Arcegno
Arcegno is located near the town of Locarno and the touristy village of Ascona,
at an altitude of 300 meters. The ground is hilly, full of rocks and stones,
technically very interesting and demanding. Getting lost is (almost) guaranteed!
The forest consists mostly of chestnuts trees, with a lot oaks and pines.
The visibility is often reduced but the running is generally good. |

Bellinzona
Bellinzona is the capital city of canton Ticino. The map is a tipical
city map, particulary interesting in the old town (with small lanes) and
around the three castles, which are the main attraction of the city. The
castles are situated on hills, so you have to count with some variations
in height. |
 |
Cademario
Located in the Malcantone region, with the villages of Arosio to the
North and Cademario to the South, this map offers tremendous views of
the Vedeggio valley below and the Lake Lugano region beyond.
It's one of the most beautiful forests in Ticino, of technical interest
and with vegetation of great variety. The stupendous red beech section
is famous and full of interesting relief. Here you will find in places
beautiful paths and open areas, ideal for relaxing. |
 |
San Bernardino
San Bernardino is an important resort in the Italian speaking part of the canton Grison,
at 1600 meters, well known for its winter sports, for the summer holidays and for
its source of mineral water with a very special taste. The ground is hilly and its
contour lines will drive you crazy. The forest is a wonderful fir-wood, with a
grassy underwood, countless clearings and surrounded by alpine meadows and
pasture-land. |
 |
Taverne
Compact wood situated along the Vedeggio valley, only 5km from Lugano.
It is composed mainly of chestnuts, and is generally free of
undergrowth, but not particularly fast. In fact there are rocks,
boulders and other fine details, which make it very difficult. There are
also some slopes rather steep. |
 |
Tesserete
This terrain is situated only 5km to the N of Lugano. It's probably one
of the most beautiful woods in Ticino, hilly, in general steep, and
above all free of undergrowth. It is a fairly compact forest,
technically very interesting all over. Even if there are many paths, the
orienteering is not that easy, since they are narrow, go in all
directions, each one looks like another and are often covered in leaves. |
